The James Webb Telescope

Join our virtual workshop on Facebook Live. Our Science Educator Mrs. Robin is a JPL volunteer Solar System Ambassador as well as a Webb Space Telescope First Image host.

This exciting STEAM workshop will include engaging experiments, simple origami, and activities involving the rainbow’s spectrum. Our explorations

will involve the history of different kinds of telescopes as well as the different objectives of the new space telescope.

All about Dinosaurs

Let's explore the world of dinosaurs.  We will become animal behavior specialists discovering that dinosaurs’  looks reflected what was on the menu for dinner.  We will study the  different types of dinosaurs, including new and exciting information about swimming and flying reptiles. We will learn about the science of technology and what trackways can tell us.

This Science Seed Pod will include an easy three ingredient recipe for making bubble soap. Our experiment will explore what type of soap will make the biggest bubbles.

Frida Kahlo

Meet Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, who is remembered for her self-portraits, pain and passion, and bold, vibrant colors. She is celebrated in Mexico for her attention to Mexican and indigenous culture and by feminists for her depiction of the female experience and form.   



Yayoi Kusama

Meet the Artist: Yayoi Kusama, a Japanese contemporary artist born in 1929 in Matsumoto, Nagano. Her art is mainly focused on sculpture and installation, but she came to public attention when she started painting her bright colored polka dots and she earned the title of the “The Princess Polka Dots”. Learn her dot method and create your own. 


Mickalene Thomas

Meet Mickalene Thomas, a contemporary American artist best known for her depictions of African-American women and celebrities through collages of acrylic, enamel, and rhinestones.  

Georgia O'Keefe

 Meet Georgia O'Keeffe was a 20th-century American painter and pioneer of American modernism best known for her canvases depicting flowers, skyscrapers, animal skulls and southwestern landscapes. 

Hilma af Klint

Meet Hilma af Klint, a Swedish artist and mystic whose paintings were amongst the first abstract art. She belonged to a group called 'The Five' and the paintings or diagrams were a visual representation of complex philosophical ideas.
